About
The Armory Preseason Challenge is a USATF sanctioned meet that is designed to give athletes a chance to bolster their college recruiting profiles with official fully automatic times and field event marks.
The Armory Preseason Challenge is open to any High School, Club, or Unattached athlete in grades 9-12. High school athletes can not represent their high school teams and will compete as unattached athletes or under a club name (teams can enter a “team alias” if athletes are registered through a school account).
No athlete that has graduated high school is allowed to compete in this meet.
Pre-Meet Instructions
Registration Steps
Go to athletic.net and add the meet to your team’s calendar. On your athletic.net team page, find the meet name and click “Enter Athletes.” You must enter athletes into specific events with seed times.
All athletes should have their grades entered in their athletic.net profile before they are registered.
Registration is $25/event. All registered teams/clubs/athletes must pay all entry fees online through athletic.net before the entry deadline. If your status is marked as ”confirmed” on athletic.net, then you are set to compete and your packet will be ready.
Unattached entrants will be prompted to make an online payment within 30 minutes of registering. Failure to do so will result in registration being cleared/deleted.
The registration deadline is Saturday, October 17th @ 12:01pm. There will be no day of registrations!
Entries and Seeding
Heat sheets and flights will be posted before the meet on armorytrack.live.
Meet Day Information
Bib/Packet Pickup
Doors to The Armory will open at 8:45am. Packets will be available for pickup in the POD room, the glass room next to The Armory Store, on the third floor (track level). Each packet will contain race bibs that your athletes must wear, meet information sheets and a team roster page.
As there is no door fee, coaches will not be given wristbands. Coaches and spectators should not go on the infield. Coaches who have athletes in the long jump, triple jump, pole vault and high jump can stand on the outside of the track, across from the respective event. Coaches and spectators should not stand directly in front of the timing room at the finish line.
Warm-Up Area
The Armory has two warm-up hallways on the second floor. The track will be open for warm-ups until clerking is called for the first event. If athletes go outside to warm-up, they should wear their bib to show Armory staff to re-enter the building.
Track Events
Clerking for all oval running events will be done on the apron outside the track along the first turn (underneath the end wall scoreboard).
Clerking for all infield running events will be done at the starting line of the 55m (next to the first turn and the clerking area).
Athletes should report to the clerking area when called and listen for their name to get their heat and lane assignment.
Athletes will be allowed to use starting blocks. The Armory will provide blocks - no outside blocks will be allowed in The Armory.
Field Events
All field events will be measured in meters/centimeters.
Athletes should check in at their field event when it is called.
For horizontal field events, athletes will be given four attempts (no finals).
Opening Heights: Boys/Girls High Jump - 1.45m, Up 5cm
