With less than one month remaining until the 118th Millrose Games, anticipation is building with every athlete announcement. The Citius Mag Women’s 1000m figures to be a highly intriguing race, featuring names such as Tsige Duguma, Sage Hurta-Klecker, Addy Wiley, and others vying for the top spot in this rarely-contested event.

The Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory is the venue for the Millrose Games, scheduled for Sunday, February 1st.

Tsige Duguma is the 2024 Olympic silver medalist in the 800m, representing Ethiopia. Duguma is also a World Indoor Champion and African Games gold medalist, as well as a three-time Diamond League winner, making her one of the top middle distance runners in the world.

Sage Hurta-Klecker had a breakthrough 2025 season, reaching the finals of the World Championships where she finished fifth in the 800m. A two-time NCAA Champion, Hurta-Klecker has significant mile experience in addition to her 800m prowess, which should serve her well at the in-between distance.

One athlete who is accustomed to running the 1000m is Addy Wiley, who holds the American Record outdoors with her mark of 2:30.71. Wiley is an eight-time NAIA Champion, and she holds six records at that level as she looks to translate her collegiate experience into sustained professional success.

Also in the field are a pair of Olympic finalists in Jemma Reekie and Natoya Goule, as well as US 800m runner-up Maggie Congdon and Lithuanian star Gabija Galvydyte.

The indoor 1000m American Record of 2:34.19 held by Jen Toomey has stood since 2004. The world record is 2:30.94, set by Maria Mutola in 1999.

The 118th Millrose Games is a World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meet. Other athletes announced include Grant Fisher, Cole Hocker, Elle St. Pierre, Jess Hull, Nikki Hiltz, Joe Kovacs, Yared Nuguse, Hobbs Kessler, Cameron Myers, Julien Alfred, Devynne Charlton, Danielle Williams, Doris Lemngole, Jane Hedengren, Josette Andrews, Cooper Lutkenhaus, and Will Sumner.

More details about the meet, as well as information about buying tickets, can be found at https://www.millrosegames.org/. More than 90% of the seats to the Millrose Games have already been sold.
